Nourish + Move
Build Foundations for Physical & Mental Health
If you’ve ever felt completely overwhelmed by nutrition and health advice, you’re not imagining it. One expert says carbs are essential. Another says they’re the problem. We’re told to worry about insulin, cortisol, fat, sugar, ultraprocessed foods, body weight, meal timing—and the list keeps growing.
Do I need to lift weights or run? Does walking count? Should I eat every few hours or fast? Is this ingredient harmful? Is that food inflammatory? WHAT IS THE ACTUAL ANSWER?!
The truth is, health and nutrition are rarely as simple as social media, headlines, or wellness influencers make them seem.
Nutrition science is fascinating—but it’s also complex.
Research is constantly evolving, and there is often a significant gap between what the evidence actually tells us and the confident claims we see online. Add algorithms that reward extreme opinions and information that reinforces what we already believe, and it’s no wonder it can be difficult to know what to trust.
And then there’s the bigger question: What does “healthy” actually mean?
Wanting to be healthy is a worthwhile goal. But somewhere along the way, we’ve often confused the appearance of health and social approval with health itself. A certain body size, a particular way of eating, or an impressive exercise routine can earn social approval—but none of these things tell the whole story of what is happening inside the body or how someone is actually doing.
This course is designed to help you step back from the noise and focus on foundations.
Instead of giving you another set of rules or declaring one “right” way to eat and move, we’ll explore the science, the nuance, and the real-world application of nutrition and health information.
Because you don’t need another person telling you what to believe. You need the knowledge and tools to understand the information for yourself—and figure out what makes sense for your life.
Come curious.
Leave with practical knowledge, a broader perspective, and tools you can use in everyday life.

Why this course...
People want nutrition and exercise to be simple and the promises guaranteed. “If you do more x, you’ll get y.” But that oversimplification is also what fuels conflicting philosophies about nutrition and health. It also leaves folks overly confident in “knowing” what to do. Then either struggle to apply it to their life in a sustainable way OR become so rigid, that it’s negatively impacting their quality of life.
This course is about finding space in the middle.
Providers have long told me that one of the top reasons folks are reluctant to work with a dietitian is, “I know what to do….I just don’t do it.” But often that knowledge is based in extremes that don’t match their life.
Most of us don’t know what we don’t know. That’s why I created this course. There are parts of nutrition science that ARE relatively simple. But how we apply that to our life in a sustainable and realistic way, is indeed an art. What “works” is based upon our lived experience – access, time, skills, culture, values and more.
Rather than giving you another list of rules to follow, the goal of this course is to help you understand the basics of the science around food and movement and explore ways to apply it to your unique life.
Because understanding the bigger picture can change the way you think about food, movement, and health.
